Dynamo's unbeaten run ends in St. Louis

Houston Dynamo’s road trip to St. Louis ended in a frustrating 2-1 defeat along with the unbeaten and scoreless streaks, but the match also featured some important lineup changes.

Guilherme did not start or play in the match, while Marcelo Saracchi made his first start with Houston, giving him another opportunity to settle into the team and contribute.

St. Louis opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, with Simon Becher putting the home side ahead 1-0. Houston went into halftime trailing 1-0, knowing they had 45 minutes to fight their way back.

The Dynamo came out stronger in the second half and thought they had found the equalizer in the 66th minute, when Mateusz Bogusz put the ball in the back of the net. However, the goal was ruled out for offside, keeping St. Louis in front.

Houston finally found the equalizer in the 75th minute, when Aliyu Ibrahim scored to make it 1-1.

But the momentum did not last long.

In the 85th minute, Dante Polvara scored for St. Louis, putting the home side back ahead 2-1. Houston pushed for another equalizer, but couldn’t find a way through before the final whistle.

After taking five games to finally keep a clean sheet, the Dynamo now concede twice on the road and leave St. Louis without a point. The Dynamo showed fight, but the offside goal, the late St. Louis winner and the missed opportunities ultimately decided the match.

Five games it took to stay clean. Now we lose 2-1.

Houston will have to regroup and look ahead to the next match back home this weekend against San Jose Earthquakes.
