Same Style of Play, Same Result: Dash Settle for Another Draw

The Houston Dash once again find themselves without a win when it matters most despite getting back on the game in the second half after a 1-1 draw back home against Kansas City Current.

The Dash started the match looking to control the game, keeping possession and trying to dictate the pace against the Kansas City Current. Houston was forced into an early change in the 23rd minute, when Linda Ullmark came off because of a nose injury, with Kiki Van Zanten entering the match. The Dash continued to compete, but Kansas City found the breakthrough in the 44th minute, when Debinha put the Current ahead 1-0.

Houston made two changes at halftime, bringing on Sophie Schmidt and Clarissa Larisey as the Dash looked for a response. The equalizer finally came in the 81st minute, when Kat Rader converted from the penalty spot to make it 1-1. The Dash made another change in the 83rd minute, with Malia Berkeley entering the match as Houston searched for a late winner.

Meanwhile, Miljana Ivanović remained on the bench, marking her second straight game on the bench since joining the Dash from Malmö. She is still waiting to make her NWSL debut.

Neither team could find the decisive goal, and the final whistle confirmed a 1-1 draw.

Houston showed the same style of play and the same fight, but once again, the result was the same: a tie instead of three points.

The Dash now find themselves with 20 points at 13th place and still with only two wins in the last fourteen games, with questions still left unanswered heading to their next game on the road against North Carolina Courage this weekend.
