Houston Dash Find a Late Winner to Defeat Bay FC 1-0
The Houston Dash returned to winning ways with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Bay FC on Friday night at Shell Energy Stadium.
The match was a defensive battle from the opening whistle, with both teams creating chances but unable to find the breakthrough. Houston remained patient throughout the match, while goalkeeper Jane Campbell made several key saves to preserve the clean sheet which marks the first one in the last two months.
Just when it looked like the match was headed for a scoreless draw, the Dash delivered the decisive moment. In the 91st minute, Avery Patterson delivered a perfect pass into the box, where Linda Ullmark calmly finished to score the game-winning goal and send the home crowd into celebration.
The late goal rewarded Houston for its persistence after battling for more than 90 minutes. The defense stayed organized, Campbell came up with big stops when needed, and the attack never stopped pushing for a winner.
With the victory, the Dash earned all three points in front of their home supporters for the first time since May and build momentum as they continue the second half of the NWSL season.
