Houston Dash Go Down 1-0 Against Gotham FC

The first half saw both teams searching for the opening goal. Houston had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 22nd minute when Sam Kerr stepped up to the penalty spot, but her attempt went wide, sending the match into halftime scoreless.
Just one minute into the second half, Kerr made up for the missed opportunity by finding the back of the net in the 46th minute, scoring the lone goal of the match.
Houston looked to respond and made several changes in the second half to try and find an equalizer. In the 54th minute, Khyah Harper made her Houston Dash debut against her former club, bringing fresh energy to the attack. Head coach Fabrice Gautrat also turned to his bench, introducing Evelina Duljan, Yazmeen Ryan, Delanie Sheehan, and Maggie Graham in search of an equalizer.

The Dash continued to push until the final whistle, creating a few late opportunities, but Gotham’s defense held firm. Despite the substitutions and late pressure, Houston was unable to find the back of the net as Gotham FC left Shell Energy Stadium with a hard-fought 1–0 victory.
With only two wins in the last 13 games, the Houston Dash find themselves once again in a difficult position to find consistency in their winning ways and must recover by any means necessary.
