With a 1-0 win in Guatemala City last week, Houston Dynamo come back home to BBVA Compass Stadium to host CD Guastatoya in Leg 2 of the Round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions League to decide who will advance to the Quarterfinals. Houston have a one-goal advantage in the aggregate score and carry the away-goal advantage, but they cannot get too confident as we all know that each Concacaf team is a wild card of its own regardless of domestic and consistent performances.

Key Notes:

• Houston has a combined home record of 12W-10D-10L as hosts at Robertson Stadium and BBVA Compass Stadium in Concacaf Champions League play.

• With a win or draw with the away-goal advantage, Houston will be making its fourth Quarterfinals appearance in Concacaf Champions League play. With appearances made in 2007, 2008, and 2012.

• The Dynamo earned their second-ever road win in international competitions last Tuesday against CD Guastatoya in Guatemala, with its first being against Club Deportivo Futbolistas Asociados Sanatecos in El Salvador back in August of 2012.

In Leg 1, CD Guastatoya managed to break Houston's creative channels and deadly counter at the cost of having a five-man back line. But with this in mind, they had a few chances to score on the Dynamo with set-pieces off the flanks. The hosts would later on falter as DaMarcus Beasley would score a magnificent golazo and Houston would pump up the pressure defensively to secure the victory in Guatemala.

For Leg 2, the visitors are going start the first half with attack at nearly full force since they would want to erase Houston's advantage on aggregate. With an overall solid result in Guatemala, Kiki, Figueroa, and the Dynamo's defensive corps are going to need another big performance at home to advance to the Quarters. As for offense, Manotas and Elis have to show up after a disappointing display.

Initial piece from February 19:

Houston Dynamo are set to make their first Concacaf Champions League showing in almost six years as they take on Guatemalan first-flight champions CD Guastatoya on February 19 and February 26 over two legs to determine who will advance to the Quarterfinals of the competition.

Key Notes:

• This is the first time ever both teams meet and the second time Houston will face an opponent from Guatemala, the first being against Municipal back in March of 2008. They also played at Estadio Nacional Doroteo Guamuch Flores, the site of the upcoming first leg on February 19.

• This is CD Guastatoya's first continental appearance after they defeated Antigua GFC in the Concacaf Champions League Playoff this past August.
