Vera Pauw and the Houston Dash take the field at BBVA Compass Stadium for the first time in 2018 and will open the regular season once more against the Chicago Red Stars.

The Dash are about to kick off their fifth season in the league under a new mentality and leadership after finishing in eight place last year and yet to make an appearance in the NWSL playoffs. The Chicago Red Stars are looking to improve this season to make up for their early exit from last year's playoffs.

With nine new acquisitions to the roster in all aspects of the field, including the additions of internationals Thembi Kgatlana, Kyah Simon, Lindsay Agnew, and Linda Motlhalo, the Dash know that the time to turn things around is now.
