Rio Grande Valley FC Toros vs. Saint Louis FC
Friday, March 16 - 7:30 PM CDT
H-E-B Park - Edinburg, Texas
Online: YouTube - USL channel
RGVFC are set to begin their third season in USL, and their first year under the leadership of head coach Gerson Echeverry, with an opening-test against Saint Louis FC. The Toros will have to make up for their disappointing 2017 season after finishing in eleventh place and missing playoffs for the first time compared to their incredible inaugural season about two years ago.
Because the club has not released their final roster prior to the start of the season, I am expecting to publish my Toros Season Preview sometime next week or whenever said roster is made available.
DC United vs. Houston Dynamo
Saturday, March 17 - 12:30 PM CDT
Maryland SoccerPlex - Boyds, Maryland
TV: KUBE 57
Online: MLS Live
Coming off a loss at home, the Dynamo would have to set their sights at improving their questionable road form that has been haunting them for the past few seasons and with a first stop being at DC United's temporary home at Maryland SoccerPlex prior to the completion of Audi Field in Washington DC.
While Houston are coming in with one win and one loss against two of the best teams in the Eastern and Western Conferences respectively to start the season, DC earned a disappointing draw against Orlando City and a loss against Atlanta United, both as visitors, in their first two matches. But despite these results, DC United's love to sit back along with their new signings Yamil Asad's and Darren Mattocks' proven technical ability to force goals by any means show as a dangerous threat for the Dynamo.
This is a great opportunity for the Dynamo to earn a positive result as visitors prior to their tough schedule ahead.
