Houston Dynamo vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Saturday, March 10 - 5:00 PM CT
BBVA Compass Stadium - Houston, Texas
TV: KUBE 57
Online: MLS Live
The Dynamo are looking to have a strong start of the season as they host the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Whitecaps are coming off a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Impact last week and will be coming to Houston with the attacking prowess of Kei Kamara, Yordy Reyna, and Alphonso Davies. Despite showing some cracks in their previous match, Vancouver will be a threat to the Dynamo.
The Houston back line and defensive midfield have to bring back their great form from last week, they will be facing a heavily-experienced attacking front compared to Atlanta United and they will know how to try and get past each defender. I do not see any changes other than Darwin Ceren taking over last season's team MVP Juan David Cabezas due to an injury as reported by Corey Roepken.
With the return of playmaker Tomas Martinez after a red-card suspension, we may see him replace Boniek Garcia in the Starting XI. He will be providing the ball to Alberth Elis, Mauro Manotas, and Andrew Wenger. There is a chance we may see Romell Quioto replacing Wenger in the Starting XI, but this would be unlikely after Wenger's great performance last week.
Lots to look forward to for the Dynamo's second match of the season.
U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team vs. Houston Dash
Sunday, March 11 - 1:30 PM CT
University of Portland - Portland, Oregon
Update: this match will not be streamed per confirmation by the Houston Dash. My apologies.
With preseason in its final stretch, the Houston Dash will be traveling to Portland to participate in the newest edition of the annual Thorns Invitational tournament. The Dash will be facing the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team in their first match of the tournament.
Coming off a 1-0 win over Texas A&M, it will be interesting to see how head coach Vera Pauw approaches this match as some of the players in her roster return from international duty and considering that Christen Press will not be representing the team this season as reported by Corey Roepken.
Still lots to learn about this new Houston Dash!
